Wale has both local and international Investment Banking experience in New York, Dubai and Nigeria. His experience cut across Sales (Fixed Income, Currency, Commodity and Equities), Structuring, Capital Markets, Derivatives, Treasury, Risk Management, Operations and Asset Management. He has also been involved in various mining and mining investment activities in Southern Africa including Gold, Chrome, Platinum, Iron ore, diamond etc.
He joined Nissi-Lloyds Capital from FBN Capital where he was the Group Head of Institutional Sales. Prior to FBN Capital, Wale was an Associate Director at Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) Global Market for 3 years. He was based in the Middle East (Dubai) for 2 years after finishing his MBA at Columbia Business School in New York. Working for SCB Global Markets; he was responsible for the Fixed Income, Currency and Commodity Derivatives Sales and Structuring across sub Sahara Africa. He has been involved in various deals across Sub-Sahara Africa including Nigeria, Ghana, Botswana, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa.
He later moved to Nigeria to run the Financial Institutions Fixed Income, Currency and Commodity Sales and Derivatives business for Standard Chartered Global Markets.
Prior to SCB, Wale also worked at UBS Investment Bank in New York and Stamford, Connecticut, United Bank for Africa (UBA) and Oceanic Bank Nigeria Plc (now ECO Bank).
He is an Alumnus of the prestigious Columbia Business School New York. He holds a B.Sc. Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. Wale is a Chartered Member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM), Chartered Member of Licensed International Financial Analyst USA and a Member of Chartered Institute of Bankers Nigeria (CIBN). He also holds the ACI Treasury Dealing Certificate
Folabi is the co-founder and managing partner of Octave Partners Limited, an investment & management consulting firm that focuses on West Africa. Prior to co-founding Octave, he worked on the investment team at Travant Capital Partners for 2 years. Travant, a Private Equity firm with $107 million under management, focused on investments in West & Central Africa. Folabi also has financial advisory experience with Ocean & Oil Holdings in Nigeria and management consulting experience with Booz Allen Hamilton (now Booz & Co) in the U.S. Prior to attending business school; he spent 5 years gaining experience with three Fortune 500 companies: Halliburton, Merck & Astra Zeneca
Pharmaceuticals. In these roles, he gained experience in operations, strategy and engineering. For example, at AstraZeneca, he was responsible for the operations of a factory and managed employees in the production of Seroquel, a drug that had sales of over $2 billion per year. Folabi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, Texas, where he graduated with honours and was Elected to Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honour Society. Folabi also has a Master in Business Administration degree from the Harvard Business School where he focused on Finance, Strategy & Entrepreneurship.
He holds a B.Sc. degree in Economics from the University of Port
Harcourt and an M.Sc degree in Economics from the University of Lagos. He
started his career with UBA Plc, where he rose to the position of a dealer
in Money Market Instruments. He later joined Standard Trusts Bank Plc with
direct responsibilities for managing the bank’s Assets and Liabilities.
During this time he also doubled as an inter-bank dealer. Tom moved to NAL
Bank Plc in 2004 as the chief dealer for Money & Foreign Exchange Markets
within the Treasury & Financial Institution Group.
He traded in Government Securities managing a trading portfolio in excess of N15 billion. In August 2007, he was head hunted to Bank PHB Plc as the Head of Foreign Currency and Commodity Trading where he maintained an average trading volume of $1.5billion per day. Tom has attended various professional courses in Interest rate, Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income (Bond), Advanced Swaps – Euro money Training EMEA Paris, France, Enterprise Risk Management, ACI Dealing Certificate, FDHL Gilt Games (Bonds Training) and Bond Market Dynamics and Trading Strategies organized by various International institutions including UBS Investment Bank (Switzerland), ICAP(Johannesburg South Africa), EUROMONEY (London) and Bond Exchange of South Africa. He is also a Certified Pension Fund Administrator.
Kazim is a lawyer who practices in the commercial capital of Nigeria - Lagos. He is a University of Wales, Cardiff, Law School alumni from where he proceeded to Glasgow Caledonian University Business School, Scotland, United Kingdom to obtain an M.B.A. He is a co- founder of Probitas Partners & Co, a prominent Lagos based commercial law firm where he is also a partner. He is a versatile commercial lawyer who has developed expertise in commercial law. His experience has exposed him to various industry dynamics from aviation, real estate, maritime, agro-allied, transportation and construction.
He has been involved in a number of start-ups and is also currently on the board of Dynamic International Ltd; a major Lagos based construction firm. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and an associate of The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
